Insight: Customers struggle to identify with their future selves when doing future financial planning.
Design challenge: How can we make life insurance more tangible to a user so they see the value in it and ultimately, what they have to lose?
Idea: A visual, engaging experience supported by smart logic that enables the adviser to focus on storytelling and the customer to comprehend their risk.
My role in this: I’ve had the privilege of working on this SaaS product for over four years. I’ve played a lead a strategy role as part of a cross-functional squad dedicated to the product, which has included:
Adviser research (e.g., interviews and surveys to gather feedback on the experience)
Ethnography to understand how the tool fits into users’ wider advice process
Working alongside the design team to develop new features
Reviewing the performance of the product.
